Sandstone Sekhmet circa 1500 B.C.

"Hmmm...according to 22, I now possess a friend who is a thief, as well! I cannot believe this - seems my uneasy instincts concerning our Ms. Maddie, last she appeared to meet me in Gisors, were accurate. If I didn't know better, I'd say she was keeping company with that jackass..."

"That bad, eh? And please, let's leave your former boyfriend out of this."

"He wasn't my boyfriend...he was a...dalliance," Olivia winked. "You know I can't stand him - don't pout."

"Fine. What's this all about then, and what does it have to do with our Belgian librarian?"

"Last night I had a dream about Sekhmet," Olivia read aloud from her associate's email. "As you most probably recall, Sekhmet, the lion-headed warrior goddess, is the daughter of Ra (the sun), consort of Ptah, mother of Nefer-Tem and Imhotep. She is known as 'the Powerful one,' created by the Ra from the fire in his eyes at midday. Since Sekhmet is often called a creature of vengeance, punishing those who stray from Ra's worship, it is most fitting that I joined with her in the dreamscape last night. Part of this scene featured Sekhmet guarding Ra's boat on its voyage throught the 12 zones of the underworld, which of course is all about the Zodiac and its impact on humanity. Personally, I also view Sekhmet as a peaceful protectress of the righteous, closely linked to another benevolent goddess, cat-headed Bastet. Which all brings me to my present predicament, in a round about way, naturally. "

"Go on, get to the good part," Domenico urged.
